Hemp, a long story..
🔎Scouring the vast deposits of information on the web for another plant that is as useful as Hemp (Cannabis Sativa sans THC), is like trying to find the proverbial needle in a haystack.
When you delve into the history of the plant, and its multiple uses, it becomes even more gobsmackingly ridiculous that hemp, and by implication, marijuana has been persecuted for so long. History, via the World Wide Web, and be careful whom you listen to on the web☢️ , there are however what I consider credible information sources, which implicitly teach us that hemp very suddenly disappeared of the radar in the US, as far as I can tell 😕, before that, you were forced to grow hemp on your property if you had more than a certain amount of space in your possession, and if you didn’t, you would be penalised financially! 😲
So I have a question⁉️, actually a few.
How did we as a species, allow members of our own species, to sell us a synthetic equivalent of what is a naturally occurring plant, that grows like a weed, in most conditions. A weed that cures most our human species’ ailments, and grows with minimal water and land requirements, yet yields more than an average crop cycle in a calendar year, and is so easy to grow, that until recently in terms of our lifetime, the government were forcing us to grow our share for the collective good.
How doff were we?
How do they sleep at night? The co-opted minions, knowing they have legislated, marketed, sprayed poison on, arrested, harassed, criminalised and then killed to keep it from us. Mostly I am puzzled as to why❓, as acceptance and embrace would benefit all.
And ironically, we have financed the huge fight that is on its way between the nations of the world and big business. Through years of swallowing their ailments, tablets and nutritional advice. Through believing that it is better to treat those ailments with fizzles and pops, and pink lollipops that mess with our bodies and our minds. By letting them spray our land and our fields with poisons and feeding us animals that have eaten some hairy stuff themselves before we consume them. We have armed them with legions of dependant soldiers, willing to turn a blind eye because they are just as entrenched in the capitalist consumerist machine as we all are.
However, as stated previously, the World Wide Web, the last bastion of species freedom, has started to stem the tide, open the human conscience, and let people look at life more openly. The powers that be, who have much to lose, have already stated the arduous task of trying to regulate what we can learn through the World Wide Web-Net Neutrality being a hot topic currently. Ironically it will take an inanimate network to unlock an animate one that exists between all animate beings, I hope.
Choose your tribe, much like you do in your immediate environment, and support their cause locally. Dont try to convince everybody at once, this is a life long mission. Reach out and educate rather than hate where you can. Walk your talk, and practice daily who you would like to become, because repetition to perfection is a chronic condition which afflicts the human of the species, and I live in hope that we are turning a corner, for my children’s sakes and their children and theirs…
Education, it is the only weapon against ignorance and the general malaise that has infected our species.
Embrace the usefulness of marijuana and its astounding number of those uses. From food, medicine, clothes and building materials through to paper, animal bedding and fuel, many that havent been developed yet.
Sadly, the alternative products, manufactured or extracted from crude oil, trees, the earth and the practices used have left deep scars on the human race and the planet we inhabit, favoring a small elite financially, at the expense of humanity. Again, the humble marijuana plant will heal, clean and offer alternative solutions.
Henry Ford once said – “I will build a car for the great multitude. It will be large enough for the family, but small enough for the individual to run and care for. It will be constructed of the best materials, by the best men to be hired, after the simplest designs that modern engineering can devise. But it will be so low in price that no man making a good salary will be unable to own one – and enjoy with his family the blessing of hours of pleasure in God’s great open spaces.”
I wonder why Henry Ford never continued to build his car from Hemp, or why it stopped using bio-fuel as originally designed and developed? A journey into the history of crude oil and it’s developement into fuel for engines reads like a story about large corporations, governments and cartels colluding to annihilate bio fuels and their potential, criminalising marijuana, and using ill-gotten gains from an escalated prices on the black market to fund wars and genocide on a plant under the guise of protecting us from ourselves.
As education and enlightenment stem the tide, and hopefully offers alternatives to repair the damage done, I am positive Marijuana and Hemp will play a pivotal role in providing innovative, eco-friendly and sustainable solutions.
I hear whispers of governments now accepting that the tide is too strong, and getting involved and developing sustainable non-toxic methods to produce the quantities required to meet the clear demand that has been created over generations of consuming and capitalizing on synthetic, toxic medicines, foods and resources.
Universities now offer degrees in mechatronics , and planting, maintaining and harvesting large fields of hemp without any contamination, including those contaminants that human beings bring in contact with the cannabis fields are a reality.
Health is a currency, look after yours…..it’s the only resource that isn’t currently taxed, takes effort and discipline to maintain, and belongs to you and you alone.
And this piece has left me with more questions than answers.
